BEOND AIRLINE RECEIVES AIRWORTHINESS APPROVAL FROM MCAA

  • 14 August 2023

The Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) has granted Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) permission to Beond, the first premium leisure airline in the world. The airline was given permission in accordance with the MCAR-CAMO rules that were just passed.

Nantha Lenin, Chief Operations Officer of Beond and Accountable Manager, stated, "We are thrilled to have gained clearance from the MCAA for our CAMO. "Our team conducted a thorough internal setup audit, which was followed by demanding MCAA audits. Beond and MCAA work together admirably, and we appreciate the help of the entire MCAA staff. The acquisition of the certificate is an important step in obtaining our Maldives Air Operators Certificate, which will be the following stage in the beginning of our commercial operations.

A number of prestigious investors contributed to the approximately US$17M Seed Round that Beond recently announced had been successfully closed. The round received more interest than expected, demonstrating the broad confidence and support for Beond's mission and potential. Upon receiving regulatory permission, Beond will launch operations in the fall of 2023 with the Maldives serving as its initial centre. The airline plans to fly customers to the Maldives from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific on a fleet of cutting-edge Airbus A320-family aircraft in a distinctive luxury, lay-flat format.
