JOALI SUSTAINABILITY FUND ANNOUNCES FIVE GRANT RECIPIENTS
The JOALI brand is dedicated to protecting the local communities and environments in which they operate through sustainable practices, rejuvenating travel, and responsible tourism. The JOALI brand is a leading luxury hospitality and lifestyle brand with two award-winning islands in the Maldives — JOALI Maldives and JOALI BEING. The JOALI Sustainability Fund initiative, which was launched in early 2023 and promises to support locally-led projects carried out in Raa Atoll (where both JOALI properties are located), is one of these ongoing efforts. It aims to demonstrate sustainability and have the potential to have a lasting impact.
The JOALI Sustainability Fund has announced that it will award a total of $15,000 USD to five projects that showed their efforts and plans to impact their local communities across four focus areas: protecting the environment, promoting wellbeing, building platforms for women, and fostering ethical consumption. This announcement comes after the fund received many deserving applications. The five people who received grants from the JOALI Sustainability Fund are: Rasmaadhoo School – “Green for a Healthier Life”, Ungoofaaru School – “Inclusive Education”, Hulhudhuffaaru School – “Fostering the Youth”, Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital – “Dental Radiovisiography” and Dhuvaafaru Zuvaanunge Jammiyya – “Joy of Empowering Women by Farming”.
