MALDIVES AND KOREA SIGN AN MOU ON COOPERATION IN TOURISM FIELD

The governments of the Maldives and the Republic of Korea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism. The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Tourism on March 22, 2023, during the visit of Special Envoy and Members of Korean Government Officials to the Maldives.

The MoU were signed by the Vice President of the Korean Tourist Organization, H.E. Lee Jae-Hwan, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea, and the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, on behalf of the Government of the Maldives. Representatives from the Korean Tourism Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Tourism were present during the ceremony.

Prior to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Minister Dr. Abdullah Mausoom met with H. E. Lee Jin Bok, Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs of Korea, to discuss ways to deepen the bilateral relationship and collaboration, particularly in the tourism industry.
