MALDIVES AWARDED “WORLD’S LEADING DESTINATION” FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW!

MMPRC/Visit Maldives has announced a historic achievement for the destination: the Maldives has been named the World's Leading Destination at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2023. The Maldives won this prestigious award for the fourth year in a row, beating out 17 other famous worldwide locations, including Dubai, Indonesia, New Zealand, Spain, and Vietnam. This honour reinforces the Maldives' consistent quality and unrivalled charm, which distinguishes us as the world's top destination.

The Maldives won two of the most prestigious awards at the World Travel honours event, which will be hosted on December 1st, 2023, at Dubai's landmark Burj Al Arab. In addition to being named The World's Leading Destination 2023, MMPRC was named The World's Leading Tourist Board 2023, marking the organization's second consecutive year with this honour. These victories attest to the Maldives' remarkable position in the global tourist landscape, as well as the enduring attractiveness of the Sunny Side of Life to visitors from all over the world.

This year has been a standout year for the Maldives, with numerous noteworthy and significant efforts. By the 23rd of November 2023, 348 promotional activities had been carried out, with a total reach of around 4,534,603,078, considerably increasing the Maldives' visibility as the ultimate tourism destination across continents. The combined efforts and unwavering support of tourism industry players were critical in bringing the resort to global awareness and appeal.
