MALDIVES WELCOMED THE FIRST TOURIST OF 2024
The Maldives greeted Benjamin Duncan Moore, the first tourist of 2024, with a unique celebrating event at Velena International Airport on January 1st morning. Benjamin, a British national, arrived from Abu Dhabi and this was his first visit to the Maldives where he will be staying at Villa Nautica for an enjoyable vacation.
Officials from the Ministry of Tourism and the MMPRC, as well as Industry representatives, received him at the airport. CROSSROADS Maldives provided the first visitor with a complimentary vacation that included stays at SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. Other unique presents were given to the first traveller of 2024, including those from the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, MACL, Maldives Immigration, and Dhiraagu.
MMPRC's marketing activities and strategies in 2024 aim to move the Maldives tourism industry even further forward with unique ways based on research-based methodologies. MMPRC is planning to use data-driven insights to better effectively market the Maldives as a vacation destination. MMPRC aspires to build a unified vision for sustainable tourism growth by collaborative efforts with industry players, NGOs, local councils, and associations. MMPRC will also broaden its reach by increasing its social media presence and launching more effective marketing efforts.
