SUNNY SIDE OF LIFE PROMOTED AT ATM 2023
The largest group ever sent from the Maldives by the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) will attend the 2023 Arabian Travel Market (ATM). At the event held from May 1–4, 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Center, over 200 partners, representing 90 travel and tourism businesses, are marketing the Maldives alongside Visit Maldives. In an effort to promote the Maldives in the Middle East, give opportunities for the Maldives travel industry to network with the Arabian travel industry, and eventually boost arrivals from the Middle East, MMPRC is participating in this event. The Maldives are taking part in ATM for the first time after being named the "World's Leading Destination" for three years in a row, the most prestigious award in the tourism business.
A significant source market for the Maldives has always been the Middle Eastern market. The Middle East continues to be a major focal market after the reopening of international borders. 21,127 tourists from the Middle East entered the Maldives in total in 2022. Continuous marketing initiatives are carried out all year long with a focus on the Middle Eastern market as part of the core strategy of maintaining brand visibility to guarantee that the Maldives stays a top-of-mind destination. These include cooperative marketing initiatives with top airlines, media familiarization tours, marketing efforts with major periodicals and magazines, outdoor advertising campaigns, and more.
