VISIT MALDIVES RETURNS TO ITB BERLIN 2023 AFTER A HIATUS

After a three-year absence due to the epidemic, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) will attend ITB Berlin in 2023. The event takes place in March 2023 from 7-9. With 233 representatives from 91 firms participating in the fair, the Maldives' ITB delegation this year is the largest in MMPRC's history. A special "Maldives Media Meet" news conference and an exclusive "Maldives Evening" networking event for trade professionals were held by MMPRC in conjunction with ITB Berlin on March 7 and 8, respectively.

ITB Berlin is the biggest travel trade show in the world, attracting over 160,000 attendees from the travel industry and public in addition to its over 10,000 exhibitors. Many facets of the travel and tourism industry are covered by ITB Berlin, including destinations, tour operators, airlines, hotels, bloggers, and several other industry participants.The booth has 91 counters and 73 tables designated for industry partners to network with the world's travel sector and hold effective meetings. The lively and colorful stand offers a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences, such as cultural acts like traditional dance from the Maldives and culinary opportunities that let guests try local specialties like kulhi roshi and foni roshi.

One of the most lucrative markets for the Maldives tourism business is the German market. With 133,424 tourist arrivals and an 8% market share, Germany was the fourth-highest source market in 2022. Germany is the fifth-largest source market for visitors to the Maldives as of February 28, 2023, with 22,995 arrivals and a 6.6% market share.
